Next-gen cloud retail provider supports women in automotive to shape the technology of tomorrow
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa., April 15, 2020—Autosoft, provider of next-generation retail solutions for automotive dealers, has donated $2,500 to the General Motors (GM) Women’s Retail Network Drive to Succeed Scholarship. The donation establishes the GM WRN Autosoft Scholarship, an automotive retail scholarship for women.
The Autosoft scholarship was awarded to Rosemary Christensen of Ashville – Buncombe Technical Community College in Ashville, NC. Christensen enjoys learning about the different systems that work within vehicles and is eager to continue growing her skills and knowledge of automotive systems.
“Learning and growing are part of our core values at Autosoft,” says Bryce Veon, President and CEO at Autosoft. “We are honored to be able to help women such as Rosemary with promising futures in the automotive industry. Along with our employee tuition reimbursement program, the GM WRN Autosoft Scholarship is another way for us to shape the next generation of automotive technology one visionary at a time.”
This year’s GM WRN Drive to Succeed Scholarship recipients included 18 outstanding women, the largest group awarded through this program to date. Since its inception in 2011, the program has awarded 87 scholarships totaling $268,000. Many past winners now work in GM dealerships and the automotive retail sector in a variety of roles, from administrative and sales to marketing, service and parts.
“With every scholarship awarded we are investing in our future, as well as helping women reach their true potential,” says Eve Knudtsen, WRN Scholarship chair. “Our dealers are already benefiting from the skills scholarship winners are bringing into the workplace. Exceptional female employees increase customer loyalty and overall profitability, and attract other women to the automotive industry.”
The GM WRN Drive to Succeed Scholarship is one of many donations provided by the Autosoft Cares team, an employee-led organization dedicated to supporting initiatives in its community and nationwide, including STEAM, technology jobs in the automotive industry and women in automotive.
Autosoft employees also have volunteered their time and talents building homes for Habitat for Humanity, packing groceries for senior citizens, donating school supplies, and facilitating STEAM events at local schools. Each employee is given eight hours of paid time off to volunteer for organizations of their choice.
